Thousands of Californians are registering as Democrats. Here's why.
We're approaching historic elections.
We can win back the White House, reverse the catastrophic Bush policies and make a clean break from the past.
We can protect Democratic Majorities in Congress and our State Legislature.
We can use our victories to end the war, improve schools and health care access, protect our environment and restore our economy.
Please do your part. Register and vote Democratic.

I kid you not... He simply doesn't get it!
Wow! Just simply WOW! The Senate, and Rummy too!
Democratic control of the US House of Representatives and the Senate is more than we dreamed. But now we have to all get busy and retain the inertia by becoming active in our respective communities so that we are prepared for elections in 2007 and 2008.
Please join the Siskiyou Democrats and help us prepare for our future!
Here is what Speaker-elect Pelosi plans to accomplish the first 100 hours
WHAT A DAY!
We won the US House of Representatives in a landslide! Check out these newspaper front page images
across the nation. There is a lot of hard work to be done now, but we will savor the opportunity to play a role in correcting the course of the US.
The Senate races in Virginia and Montana (CBS results here) still have to be resolved, and we may still win the Senate as well, but having won the House will really allow us to begin to make sweeping changes and improve life for all Americans, and to correct our image in the world.
At the State level, we have much to celebrate! Debra Bowen won her race for Secretary of State (now we can really make progress on those dang electronic voting machines and bring transparency and honesty to our elections), and anti-environment Richard Pombo has been shown the door. John Garamendi will be our new Lieutenant Governor, John Chiang won his race for California State Controller seat, Lockyer and Brown take over the seats for Treasurer and Attorney General. And finally, the results of the various propositions are listed here.
For Siskiyou County races, the results are here.
Congratulations Democrats - we worked hard, our message was heard, and we won a lot. Now let's get back to work and prepare for 2008!

Good News For Siskiyou County
Blackwell is at it again, and this time it looks a lot like Florida 2000. He purged the voter list, and 3 other states have done it too. Read this, then pass the word!

US grants N Korea nuclear funds (Wednesday, 3 April, 2002)
The US Government has announced that it will release $95m to North Korea as part of an agreement to replace the Stalinist country's own nuclear programme, which the US suspected was being misused.
Oct. 16, 2006 issue - On Sept. 19, 2005, North Korea signed a widely heralded denuclearization agreement with the United States, China, Russia, Japan and South Korea. Pyongyang pledged to "abandon all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs." In return, Washington agreed that the United States and North Korea would "respect each other's sovereignty, exist peacefully together and take steps to normalize their relations."
Four days later, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sweeping financial sanctions against North Korea designed to cut off the country's access to the international banking system, branding it a "criminal state" guilty of counterfeiting, money laundering and trafficking in weapons of mass destruction.
